The 23rd European Rhythmic Gymnastics Championships were hosted in Baku for the first time.

The Gold medal was won by gymnast Aliya Garayeva in exercises with a Rope at the European Rhythmic Gymnastics Championships in Baku for the first time in history of Azerbaijani gymnastics. 
The Bronze medal in a Team Competition (Aliya Garayeva, Dinara Gimatova, Anna Gurbanova) was won at the European Rhythmic Gymnastics Championships in Baku.
