FIG WORLD CUP IN TRAMPOLINE GYMNASTICS, AGF TROPHY

Baku hosts the FIG World Cup in Trampoline Gymnastics in the first week of March.

The competitions to be held at Milli Gimnastika Arenası (National Gymnastics Arena), which has turned into the constant training camp venue of foreign gymnasts, on March 5-6.

The World Cup in Trampoline Gymnastics, the development of which commenced in Azerbaijan from the end of 2013, will be organized in our country for the first time.    

Along with European countries, athletes from various corners of the world – from the Far East’s Japan, Oceanian Australia, the Atlantic coasts’ United States of America – will take part in the World Cup, which opens the first competitions’ season in Trampoline Gymnastics of the Olympic year.

In general, 77 athletes representing 17 countries will compete in individual program and within synchro pairs. There are 46 men and 31 women among the competitors.

Together with leader of the Azerbaijani national team in Trampoline Gymnastics, Bronze medalist of the Baku 2015 First European Games, Ilya Grishunin, the country will be represented by Gold medalist of the Open Azerbaijan Championships Oleg Piunov, Dmitriy Fedorovskiy and Ruslan Aghamirov, as well as by female athletes – finalist of the First European Games Sviatlana  Makshtarova and Sabina Zaitseva at the World Cup.  

The Qualifications on the first day of the competitions to be followed by Finals next day.

The audience will also be not forgotten during the event. Thus, spectators, supporting the athletes during the event, have a chance to get presents from the organizers by participating in the various interesting contests.

 

The World Cup’s favourite male gymnasts are:

Dmitrii Ushakov (Russia) - the Olympic Games’ Silver, the World (team competition) and European Championships’ (team competition & individual program) Gold medalist;

Uladzislau Hancharou (Belarus) – the World Championships’ Silver (individual program & within synchro pair) and the European Championships’ Gold (individual program) medalist;

Sebastien Martiny (France) – the World Championships’ two-time Silver medalist (within synchro pair);

Andrey Yudin (Russia) – the World and European Championships’ Gold medalist (team competition);

Mikhail Melnik (Russia) – the World Championships Gold (team competition) and Silver (within synchro pair) medalist;

Morante Allan (France) – the World Championships’ Bronze medalist (within synchro pair);

Blake Gaudry (Australia) – the World Championships’ Bronze medalist (team competition);

Ty Swadling (Australia) – the World Championships’ Bronze medalist (team competition);

Artur Zakrzewski (Poland) – the World Championships’ Bronze medalist (within synchro pair);

Luke Strong (Great Britain) – the European Championships’ Bronze medalist (individual program);

Pedro Ribeiro (Portugal) – the Youth Olympic Games’ Bronze medalist.

Tatsiana Piatrenia (Belarus) – the World and European Championships’ Silver medalist (within synchro pair);

Katherine Driscoll (Great Britain) – the World Championships’ Gold medalist (team competition & within synchro pair);

Bryony Page (Great Britain) – the World Championships’ Gold medalist (team competition);

Pamela Clark (Great Britain) – the European Championships’ Gold medalist (team competition);

Nataliia Moskvina (Ukraine) – the World Championships’ Bronze medalist (within synchro pair);

Anna Kornetskaya (Russia) – the World Championships’ Bronze (team competition) and Baku 2015 First European Games’ Gold (within synchro pair) medalist;

Yana Pavlova (Russia) – the World Championships’ Bronze medalist (team competition);

Rana Nakano (Japan) – the Youth Olympic Games’ Silver medalist.
