In November, the European Aerobic Gymnastics Championship will be held for the first time in the city of Ganja! Yes, you read that right – the most prestigious aerobic competition of the European continent will take place in this beautiful Azerbaijani city! The decision made by the Executive Committee of European Gymnastics on September 6 presents Ganja as a new shining star on the international sports stage. This will be the first European Championship in the field of gymnastics to be held in one of our regions. Thus, Ganja will host Europe’s most agile and energetic athletes.
But that’s not all! By hosting this major event, Ganja will not only welcome sports enthusiasts but will also be recognized for its magnificent history and culture. The city’s fascinating architecture, ancient streets, and hospitable people will make the championship even more special.
The competition will take place at the Ganja Sports Palace, which was inaugurated in 2024. The President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, attended the opening ceremony of the palace in April 2024. The Ganja Sports Palace stands out for its modernity. It is fully equipped with all necessary infrastructure, allowing international-level competitions across various sports disciplines to be held according to global standards.
Here, unforgettable moments will be experienced both in sports and culture. Ganja will become a new focal point for the international sports community – and you will be part of this historic moment!
This event promises more than expected – it offers young athletes from the region an opportunity to strengthen their self-confidence and find their place in the world of sports. Watching Europe’s best aerobic gymnasts up close will inspire young talents to discover their passion for this sport. Interacting with world gymnastics stars will show our youth that the dream of becoming a successful athlete is not an illusion.
It should be noted that our capital city, Baku, hosted the European Aerobic Gymnastics Championship in 2019, as well as the World Age Group Competitions and the World Championships in 2021.
This time, the wave of continental sports energy will flow to Ganja, where the 1st European Championship for juniors and under 15 will be held on November 9–11, and the 14th European Championship for seniors will take place on November 14–16.
We invite all sports enthusiasts to join the event, feel the pulse of new beginnings in sports, and be enchanted by the harmony of sport and culture!
