Winner of the FIG Artistic Gymnastics Apparatus World Cup held in Azerbaijan on Pommel Horse, Kazakhstan’s representative - Nariman Kurbanov, shared his joy of victory with the Press Service of Azerbaijan Gymnastics Federation (AGF):
- I ranked 4th at the last World Championships held 4 months ago. After taking a month off in December, I started to prepare for this year’s competitions. I won the “Bronze” at the World Cup in Germany as I made a mistake. Then I went to Qatar and won the “Gold” medal there. Afterwards, I arrived in Baku and became the winner again. This is my fifth visit to Baku. Last year, I won the “Gold” at the World Cup held here. People here are very friendly and hospitable. They are always ready to help. The Arena has high-quality facilities. The World Cup in Egypt, the Asian Championships, the Summer Universiade, the Asian Games & World Championships await me ahead. I will be testing new combinations as I have received enough points at the recent World Cups. The rivalry at the competition was quite strong. Last year’s World Champion & Silver medalist of the Summer Olympic Games Tokyo-2020 was among the participants.
