Although the Rhythmic Gymnastics European Championships held in Budapest has come to an end, we must say that we are still impressed by the attractive performances of the gymnasts. For this reason, we present the interview with the Coach of the Lithuanian National Team, who visited our country for the preparation of the Championships. 

Welcome to Baku. Please introduce yourself.
- My name is Rasa Židonienė. I am from Lithuania. I came to your country for training, to be a guest and prepare for the European Championships.

How is your preparation going? How many gymnasts are preparing for the competition?
- Currently, I came to the training camp with two athletes. However, only one of my gymnasts will participate in the European Championships.

We would like to know your impression about Baku. Is that your first visit?
- If I’m not mistaken, this is my fourth or fifth visit. I really like this place. The most important thing is the people. They are very sincere, smiling and polite. They are always ready to lend a hand and help you. I would say that the conditions here are excellent. The professionalism of the coaches & choreographers is very high. We all learn from them. I am very glad that I was invited here.

You said that this is not your first visit to Baku. Can you evaluate the development of Gymnastics in Azerbaijan in recent years?
- Of course. I still remember that when I was here 15 years ago, the level of development of Gymnastics, and, in general, the city was very different. Everything is getting more beautiful day-by-day. I’m just envious while seeing your Junior gymnasts. They are so awesome.  
What would your advice to the growing gymnasts? What is important in achieving success in sports?
- In my opinion, it’s a team effort. If there is a team, as they say, if the hand has five fingers, then it can catch, compete & move forward. So, I saw this mentioned teamwork here. Choreographers, coaches, masseurs & therapists, in short, all necessary conditions are available. These are the most important things for the success. The created facilities are simply amazing.
