Ìris Svavarasdóttir, a course lecturer in TeamGym and competition manager of the Icelandic National Team told Trend that TeamGym is developing rapidly in Azerbaijan.

The objectives of the TeamGym workshop held in Baku are to make some clarifications to the Code of Points in this gymnastics discipline to its participants. “TeamGym is rapidly developing in Azerbaijan. There have already been achieved good results in TeamGym within a short period of time of its establishment. If the work in this direction continues, the Azerbaijani gymnasts will be very successful. During the workshop, I noticed great interest not only from athletes and TeamGym coaches, but also from representatives of other gymnastics disciplines,”she said.

According to Svavarasdóttir, Azerbaijan has created all the necessary conditions for the development of this gymnastics discipline.

“In your country, excellent conditions have been created for gymnasts. Milli Gimnastika Arenasi (National Gymnastics Arena) in Baku is special world and there is everything that is needed for the full training of athletes,” the expert from Iceland added.

It should be mentioned that Azerbaijan Gymnastics Federation organizes TeamGym workshop for local gymnasts and coaches in Baku on October 24-26. The courses are conducted by invited experts from Iceland - Ìris Svavarasdóttir, Ìris Mist Magnùsdóttir and Helga Svana Ólafsdóttir. 40 people in total - the Azerbaijani gymnasts, coaches, choreographers take part in the course.
