The Disciplinary Commission has issued its final decision in the disciplinary proceedings initiated in relation to misconduct committed by Fuad Abbasov, a coach in Men's Artistic Gymnastics at Azerbaijan Gymnastics Federation (AGF), during the performance of his official duties.

According to the decision adopted at the Disciplinary Commission’s Meeting No. 18, dated 30 June 2026, F. Abbasov was found to have violated the relevant provisions of the AGF's applicable Rules in the course of his activity. As a result, he has been suspended for one (1) year, from 30 June 2026 to 30 June 2027, from participating in AGF official competitions as well as any other events organized or recognized by AGF. In addition, it was determined that he should not be considered suitable for appointment as a coach of the National Team in Men’s Artistic Gymnastics for a period of four (4) years.

The Decision further states that F. Abbasov may continue his work at the Specialized Children's and Youth Gymnastics School for Olympic Reserves, provided that he completes the safeguarding training specified in the Decision and is subject to continuous monitoring for a period of six (6) months thereafter.

Furthermore, the Decision issued a written warning to Eldar Safarov, coach of the Men's Artistic Gymnastics National Team.
