11 April 2023
On April 10, the theoretical and practical sessions of the Level 2 coaching courses in aerobic gymnastics commenced at the National Gymnastics Arena. The courses are designed for coaches working with gymnasts aged 8 to 10 and include the participation of 9 coaches representing “Ocaq Sport” Club and independent practitioners.
These sessions are being led by Bulgarian international-level expert Desislava Bogusheva and are attended by coaches who have successfully completed the first stage of the program.
The theoretical and practical parts of the course cover a wide range of topics, including step structure in aerobic gymnastics, the development and enhancement of artistry, methodology of difficulty elements, choreography, medical knowledge, psychology, and more.
The course will continue until April 12, at the end of which participants will take both theoretical and practical exams.
Prior to the in-person sessions, participants completed the online component of the course through the Azerbaijan Gymnastics Federation’s (AGF) educational platform.
For reference, the AGF’s educational website was launched in accordance with the "Regulations on the Educational Program for the Professional Development of Coaches of the Azerbaijan Gymnastics Federation" approved by the Executive Committee of the Federation on September 9, 2020.
Through this platform, coaches can register for online coaching courses in various gymnastics disciplines (rhythmic gymnastics, men's and women's artistic gymnastics, trampoline, tumbling, acrobatics, and aerobics), access study materials, and take exams.
The educational program consists of five levels—two introductory levels followed by three core levels.
