The Rhythmic Gymnastics European Cup is once again being held in Baku, and the capital is once more hosting a true gymnastics celebration. In this prestigious competition, 135 senior and 62 junior gymnasts from 32 countries are demonstrating their skills and mastery.
On the first day of the competition, during the qualification stage, junior gymnasts performed routines with different apparatus in individual events. In group exercises, teams showcased their all-around performances. From the very first day, the arena has displayed not only sport, but also a harmony of art and elegance.
At the end of the qualification round, the top eight countries in the individual events were determined, and they will continue competing in cross-battle team matchups the following day.
In the European Cup, not only individual gymnasts but also senior group exercises teams are competing in a cross-battle format for victory.
At the official Opening Ceremony, President of European Gymnastics and the Minister of Youth and Sports of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Farid Gayibov, highlighted that Baku has been selected as the sports capital this year and is hosting major international sporting events. He also noted that rhythmic gymnastics is one of the most popular sports in the country and that such tournaments are of great importance for athletes’ development and experience.
The opening ceremony continued with an artistic program, giving the audience unforgettable moments.
Over the next three days, the National Gymnastics Arena will continue to witness the most spectacular moments of elegance, artistry, and high-level performance.
