The Acrobatic and Aerobic Gymnastics World Cup, taking place at the National Gymnastics Arena from June 5 to 7, officially got underway today. Over the course of three days, the competition will showcase a unique blend of sport, artistry, and excellence, bringing together nearly 220 athletes from 7 countries in aerobic gymnastics and 11 countries in acrobatic gymnastics.
The first two days of the event are dedicated to qualification rounds, while the final day will feature the finals, where the strongest competitors will battle for top honors.
In acrobatic gymnastics, athletes will demonstrate their skills through balance and dynamic routines in the women's pair, women's group, men's pair, men's group, and mixed pair categories. In aerobic gymnastics, the competition includes individual performances, mixed pairs, trios, and group routines.
Representing Azerbaijan in aerobic gymnastics are Sara Alikhanli, Madina Mustafayeva, and Vladimir Dolmatov in the trio event; Arzu Aghayeva, Leyla Bezhanova, and Khadija Guliyeva in the group event; Madina Mustafayeva and Vladimir Dolmatov in the mixed pair category; and Sara Alikhanli in the individual competition.
Competing on the opening day of qualifications, Sara Alikhanli finished her individual routine with a score of 17.900 points.
In acrobatic gymnastics, Azerbaijan is represented by the men's pairs Daniel Abbasov and Murad Rafiyev, as well as Seymur Jafarov and Rasul Seyidli. The women's group consists of Anahita Bashiri, Zahra Rashidova, and Nazrin Zeyniyeva.
Following the first qualification round, Seymur Jafarov and Rasul Seyidli earned 26.950 points, while Murad Rafiyev and Daniel Abbasov scored 28.250 points. The women's group of Anahita Bashiri, Zahra Rashidova, and Nazrin Zeyniyeva completed their routine with a score of 28.480 points.
Over the coming days, the National Gymnastics Arena will host not only an intense battle for medals but also a spectacular display of agility, strength, harmony, and world-class athletic performance.
