Liliya Drujkina, one of the country’s experienced coaches-choreographers in rhythmic gymnastics, has passed away at the age of 72 in Baku today.In the course of the last months, Liliya Ivanovna was persistently trying to get over an illness but an ailment turned out to be stronger…She worked at the Opera Theatre as a ballet dancer till the end of the 80s of last century. Her gymnastics life began from 1988 when she got a job of an average choreographer at Baku Gymnastics School. Later, she became a leading specialist in this field, and she worked with a great number of gymnasts up to 2009. As a consequence, she applied her experience at many other sports societies – “Neftchi” and “Sarhadchi”, was a coach-choreographer of the country’s national team for many years and a holder of the honored coach title. Liliya Drujkina will be remembered by the whole gymnastics community as a good teacher, a kind person and a professional devoted to her job.
