During the excitement of the first World Cup of 2024 in our country, the member of our Artistic Gymnastics National Team - Nikita Simonov, blessed us with his great victory in Germany.
At the World Cup, which started in Cottbus on February 22, having left behind all his opponents, our athlete won the first place with 14,600 points. Our gymnast, who finished the qualification among 45 athletes & qualified for the finals with the 1st place, did not miss the advantage in the Final. 
By winning this competition, which is qualify for the Olympic Games, our athlete gained 30 rating points, which significantly increased his chances to qualify for the Summer Games through the World Cup series. It should be mentioned that Nikita Simonov ranking 6th, got 14 points in the first World Cup of the year, which was qualify for the Olympic Games held in the capital city of Egypt (Cairo) on February 15-18.
The other members of the Azerbaijani National Team among men - Ivan Tikhonov, ranked 23rd on Parallel Bars, 41st - on Pommel Horse & 56th - on Horizontal Bars. Rasul Ahmadzada, who started to compete in the World Cup this year, took 49th place on Floor Exercises, 56th - on Pommel Horse & 57th - on Parallel Bars. Mansum Safarov was 37th on Horizontal Bar & while on Floor, he took the 40th place. The member of the Azerbaijani Women’s Artistic Gymnastics National Team - Nazanin Teymurova, ranked 19th on Vault, 17th - on Floor & 22nd - on Balance Beam.
