A memorial plaque was presented to the finalists of the Olympic Games in Beijing – Vafa Huseynova, Anna Bitieva, Valeriya Yegay, Alina Trepina, Anastasiya Prasolova and Dina Gorina, and a video film devoted to the Azerbaijan’s rhythmic gymnastics successes was also displayed during the especially organized event at “Gulistan” Palace.

In addition, an order for a new flat was handed over to a member of the national group team Valeriya Yegay, together with other 21 distinguished sportsmen and coaches, by Azerbaijan president and head of the National Olympic Committee reelected for 8-year term, Ilham Aliyev, at the V General Assembly of the NOC of Azerbaijan taken place in Baku.

The General Assembly has also confirmed a new composition of the Executive Committee of the country’s NOC, consisting of 17 members. The president of Azerbaijan Gymnastics Federation, Mrs Mehriban Aliyeva, is also included in the composition of the above mentioned committee.
