Over the weekend of April 10–12, Azerbaijani gymnasts delivered outstanding performances across several prestigious international competitions, proudly representing the nation on the global stage.
At the Acrobatic Gymnastics World Cup held in Puurs, Belgium, Azerbaijan was represented by the women’s group — Anahita Bashiri, Nazrin Zeyniyeva and Zahra Rashidova — as well as the men’s pair Seymur Jafarov and Rasul Seyidli. Following strong qualification rounds, both teams advanced to the finals. In a remarkable performance, the women’s group scored 29.350 points, securing the gold medal and bringing pride to the country.
Simultaneously, an international Aerobic Gymnastics tournament took place in Bratislava, Slovakia. In the junior category, Ayan Aghayeva and Amina Mustafayeva represented Azerbaijan, while Leyla Bezhanova, Arzu Aghayeva, Khadija Guliyeva and Sara Alikhanli competed among seniors. Demonstrating excellent form, the trio of Bezhanova, Aghayeva, and Guliyeva advanced to the final round, where they achieved a score of 17.333 points, earning a well-deserved bronze medal.
In addition, Govhar Ibrahimova and Fidan Gurbanli represented the country at an international Rhythmic Gymnastics competition in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, showcasing their skill and dedication on the international stage.
Meanwhile, at the Artistic Gymnastics World Cup in Croatia, Azerbaijan was represented in the men’s category by Nikita Simonov and Aydin Alizada, and in the women’s category by Nazanin Teymurova, Deniz Aliyeva and Khadija Abbaszada.
