The rhythmic gymnastics competitions held within the framework of the 3rd CIS Games took place at the Shaki Olympic Sports Complex from October 6 to 8 and have now concluded.
In this prestigious tournament, 86 gymnasts and 9 group teams from 9 countries - Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Turkiye, Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan, Cuba, Russia, and Belarus competed for medals.
Azerbaijan was represented in the individual program by Shams Agahuseynova, Azada Atakishiyeva, Fidan Gurbanli, and Nur Sadigova, while the junior group team consisted of Nazrin Salmanli, Nazrin Abdullayeva, Ayan Nasirova, Shams Muvaffagi, and Nilufar Orujlu.
Based on the qualification results, our gymnasts advanced to the finals in all programs and brought joy with their outstanding performances. Azada Atakishiyeva won silver medals in the All-around, Ball, and Ribbon programs, while Nur Sadigova earned a bronze medal with the Hoop routine. The group team won bronze medals in the 5 Hoops and 5 pairs of Clubs programs. Additionally, Fidan Gurbanli secured a silver medal in the Clubs routine. Overall, our girls won the bronze medal in the team competition.
As a result of the three-day competition, our gymnasts brought home a total of 8 medals for our country.
