Our national team completed the 3rd CIS Games with 6 medals

From October 1–3, trampoline gymnastics competitions were held at the Shaki Olympic Sports Complex as part of the 3rd CIS Games.

This prestigious tournament brought together 43 gymnasts from 7 countries — Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Turkiye, Tajikistan, Russia, and Belarus — competing in individual, synchronized, and team events.

Team Azerbaijan was represented in the women’s category by Seljan Mahsudova — who recently set a world record in Germany — as well as Shafiga Humbatova and Vafa Alisultanova. In the men’s category, our team included Nijat Mirzayev, Huseyn Abbasov, Magsud Mahsudov, and Mehdi Aliyev.

Based on the qualification results, our team advanced to the finals in six events: men’s and women’s individual, men’s team, men’s and women’s synchronized pairs, and mixed synchronized pairs.

Our gymnasts delivered strong performances in the finals, bringing pride to our country. The men’s team won the silver medal in the team event. In the men’s individual category, Magsud Mahsudov won gold, while in the women’s individual event, Seljan Mahsudova took bronze.

In the women’s synchronized event, Seljan Mahsudova and Shafiga Humbatova earned bronze, while in the men’s synchronized event, Magsud Mahsudov and Huseyn Abbasov also secured bronze. Additionally, in the mixed synchronized pairs, Seljan Mahsudova and Magsud Mahsudov won the silver medal.

The awards ceremony was attended by Minister of Youth and Sports Farid Gayibov and Secretary General of Azerbaijan Gymnastics Federation Fatima Shafizada.

This prestigious three-day competition completed with our gymnasts winning a total of six medals for Azerbaijan.

We wholeheartedly congratulate our gymnasts on this outstanding achievement!
