The 31st Open Baku Championship in Men’s Artistic Gymnastics and the 10th Open Baku Championship in Women’s Artistic Gymnastics are taking place on June 19–20 at the National Gymnastics Arena.

The championships bring together around 30 gymnasts competing in the junior, youth and senior age categories. Participants represent the Baku Gymnastics School, as well as the Baku and Sumgayit branches of the “Ocaq Sport” Club.

In the women’s competition, gymnasts are showcasing their performances on the vault, uneven bars, balance beam and floor exercise. The men are competing on the floor exercise, pommel horse, rings, vault, parallel bars and horizontal bar.

The championships also feature members of the Azerbaijan national artistic gymnastics team, including European Championship silver medalist and 2025 World Cup series winner Nikita Simonov, as well as World Cup finalists Nazənin Teymurova and Dəniz Əliyeva.

The first day of competition concluded with the individual all-around award ceremony. In the senior women’s category, Dəniz Əliyeva claimed the gold medal, Nazənin Teymurova earned silver, and Aytən Məmmədova secured bronze.

In the junior women’s category, Loyko Milana stood on the top step of the podium. Aylin Şahbazlı finished in second place, while Fatimə Mustafazadə completed the podium in third.

On the second and final day of the championships, gymnasts will compete in the apparatus finals, where the remaining champions and medalists will be determined, bringing the competition to a close.
