The National Gymnastics Arena hosts the Azerbaijan Championships in Trampoline Gymnastics and Tumbling

On June 10, the National Gymnastics Arena successfully hosted the 10th Azerbaijan Championship in Trampoline Gymnastics and the 22nd Azerbaijan Championship in Tumbling. Nearly 50 athletes representing the Baku Gymnastics School and the “Ocaq Sport” Club took part in the competition.

Gymnasts competed across various age categories, including juniors, youth and seniors. Participants showcased their skills in individual and synchronized trampoline gymnastics programmes, as well as individual tumbling routines.

Throughout the championship, athletes demonstrated a high level of technical proficiency, coordination, agility, and mastery. Held in an exciting and competitive atmosphere, the event provided a platform for gymnasts to compete for national titles and further develop their sporting experience.

Among the participants were some of Azerbaijan’s most accomplished athletes, including Seljan Mahsudova, bronze medallist in the synchronized programme at the World Championships in Trampoline Gymnastics and participant of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games; Maksud Mahsudov, bronze medallist at the World Championships and gold medallist of the 3rd CIS Games; Tofiq Aliyev, two-time World Champion in Tumbling, silver medallist of the World Games, European Champion, and two-time European Championship silver medallist; Mikhail Malkin, three-time World Champion, European Champion, and European Championship silver medallist; and Adil Hajizada, two-time World Champion, European Champion, and European Championship silver medallist.

In the women’s individual trampoline gymnastics competition, Seljan Mahsudova claimed the gold medal, while Maksud Mahsudov secured victory in the men’s individual event.
The tumbling competition saw Tofiq Aliyev win the gold medal, Mikhail Malkin take silver, and Adil Hajizada earn the bronze medal.

The championship aimed to identify talented young athletes, enhance their competitive experience, strengthen the reserve pool for the national team, and contribute to the continued development of trampoline gymnastics and tumbling in Azerbaijan.

According to the final results, athletes representing the Baku Gymnastics School delivered strong performances and secured numerous podium finishes across different age categories and disciplines.
