From April 8–12, the European Championships in Trampoline Gymnastics and Tumbling, held in the city of Portimão, have been marked by proud moments for our country. Azerbaijan is represented at this prestigious competition by a total of 23 gymnasts across junior and senior age categories, and our athletes have already demonstrated strong performances from the very first stages.

According to the qualification results in trampoline gymnastics, Seljan Mahsudova, Magsud Mahsudov, Nijat Mirzayev, Huseyn Abbasov, Ammar Bakhshaliyev, and Farhad Mustafayev advanced to the semifinals and finals in the individual program.

In the team competitions, among juniors, Farhad Mustafayev, Omar Gasimli, Muhammad Hasanli, and Ammar Bakhshaliyev progressed to the finals. Among seniors, Magsud Mahsudov, Huseyn Abbasov, Ali Niftaliyev, and Mehdi Aliyev also secured their places in the final. In the final stage, the senior team finished in 4th place.

Our gymnasts also achieved notable results in synchronized events. In the men’s category, the pairs Ammar Bakhshaliyev – Farhad Mustafayev and Maqsud Mahsudov – Huseyn Abbasov advanced to the next rounds. In mixed synchronized events, Ayan Shabanova and Ibrahim Mustafazade also moved forward.

In double mini-trampoline, Ammar Bakhshaliyev, Omar Gasimli, Muhammad Hasanli, and Nikita Koleshnikov qualified for the team final. Ammar Bakhshaliyev will also compete in the individual final.

This championship marks a new chapter in the history of Azerbaijani gymnastics: for the first time, our athletes have reached the finals in team trampoline gymnastics in both junior and senior categories, as well as in double mini-trampoline among juniors.

Success has also continued in tumbling. Mikhail Malkin, Tofig Aliyev, Adil Hajizada, and Aleksey Karatashov qualified for the team final. Mikhail Malkin and Tofig Aliyev also reached the individual finals. In the final performance, our team won the silver medal, bringing our flag one step closer to the top.
