The 42nd European Rhythmic Gymnastics Championships took place in Varna, Bulgaria, from 27 to 31 May.
Competing today, Azerbaijan’s newly formed group routine team made its senior European Championships debut. Although the team did not advance to the apparatus finals, it delivered a commendable performance, finishing 11th in the all-around standings among 26 participating teams with a total score of 46.650 points. The gymnasts earned 24.100 points in the 5 Balls routine, placing 11th, and 22.550 points in the 3 Hoops and 2 Pairs of Clubs routine, finishing 15th.
Based on the combined results of the senior individual and group competitions, the Azerbaijani national team placed 15th in the overall team standings with a total of 239.350 points. The team’s result was achieved through the performances of individual gymnasts Fidan Gurbanli, Govhar Ibrahimova and Kamilla Seyidzada, together with the group routine team.
In the senior individual all-around competition, Fidan Gurbanli finished in 32nd place with a total score of 74.850 points.
Azerbaijan was represented at the championships by Azada Atakishiyeva and Nuray Muradli in the junior individual program; Fidan Gurbanli, Govhar Ibrahimova and Kamilla Seyidzada in the senior individual program; as well as the senior group routine team.
Among the junior gymnasts, Azada Atakishiyeva finished 19th in the Hoop exercise with a score of 22.450 points.
