As reported, Azerbaijan Gymnastics Federation (AGF), along with the international competitions, will host another important event this year – the Congress of the International Gymnastics Federation (FIG) on December 2-3.

With the purpose of making site visit and getting acquainted with the preparation plan for the Congress, where a participation of delegates from 115 countries is expected, FIG Deputy Secretary General Nicolas Buompane and FIG Coach, Education Programs Manager Olivia Bille Pena have visited our country recently.

The guests, holding meetings with the representatives of National Federation, discussed the organization of the meetings of Presidential Commission, Executive Committee and Technical Committees within the framework of the Congress, as well as a number of technical issues. 

Moreover, with the purpose of development of Parkour sport discipline newly included into the FIG activity, Introductory Courses consisting of both theoretical and practical parts will be held after the Congress on December 4-5.  In this regard, the FIG representatives visited “Ojaq Sport” Club’s hall to see the conditions of the venue where the Courses planned to be delivered. They watched the gymnasts’ training process as well.

“Everything is at the highest level. We are pleased that the forthcoming event will be hosted by Azerbaijan. Azerbaijan Gymnastics Federation demonstrates exemplary organization level while holding major competitions and sport events”, - N. Buompane emphasized.
