Young Azerbaijani gymnasts met with Azerbaijani chess Grandmaster Shahriyar Mammadyarov on the National Gymnastics Arena in Baku on Feburary 19.

Mammadyarov told about himself and his chess career, noting that both his sisters are also famous chess players.

The Grandmaster answered the questions of young gymnasts and wished them good luck in the upcoming performances.

“Gymnastics, I believe, along with being a sports discipline is an art. I love this sport very much and want to underline that it is successfully developing in Azerbaijan. Our country achieved significant success in gymnastics recent years. I carefully watch our gymnasts and wish them good luck in the upcoming contest,” Mammadyarov told local media.
