We present to you an interview with Shovkat Janibekov, the Trampoline Gymnastics coach from the Specialized Youth Sports School of Namangan, Uzbekistan, who has come to Azerbaijan for a training camp.
What can you say about the training camp?
- Everything is going great. I would like to thank you for the warm hospitality. There are excellent coaches and athletes here. I can confidently say that the best gymnastics facilities are available here.
How many athletes are you currently training here?
- We have a total of five athletes, three of whom are World Champions. We also have two-time champions. They are preparing for the upcoming World Cup.
How developed is gymnastics in Uzbekistan?
- Everything is going well for us. We have World Champions in both Tumbling and Trampoline Gymnastics.
Have the rules become more challenging in the new era?
- We are discussing the recent changes. We are preparing for the Mixed Pairs competition. New rules have been added for Tumbling. There are also regulations regarding the prohibition of repeated elements.
Is it difficult to prepare for the Mixed Pairs competition?
- I think it just takes getting used to. It is not too difficult, but it requires effort.
Is this your first time at the National Gymnastics Arena?
- I participated in the World Cup stage here in 2017. However, this is my first visit as a coach.
