“Our presence here already means valuable experience and knowledge exchange”

We present to you our interview with Natalya Rentel - international judge, coach, and First Vice-President of the Gymnastics Federation of Kyrgyzstan.

How is your training camp in Baku going?
– The training camp is going excellently. I was amazed by the size of this complex, where everything an athlete might need is gathered under one roof. There are plenty of spacious carpets for training. There is a medical center that allows gymnasts to recover quickly if health issues arise, as well as a dormitory and excellent meals available.

Could you tell us about the delegation you came to Azerbaijan with?
– We are here with our junior group team for the training camp. We’ve also formed a senior group team. We hope this team will shine in future international tournaments, do quality work, and deliver strong performances.

How do our gymnastics traditions help you during training?
– I believe that just being here means we are gaining significant experience and participating in knowledge exchange. With the training schedule and top-level specialists found in Azerbaijan, we can absorb the necessary expertise, skills, and methods to apply in the future.

What will you remember most about this place?
– This is my first time participating in a training camp here, although I’ve previously visited during World Cups and World Championships, serving as a judge. This is my first time here in the role of coach. What stands out most is this large sports complex that hosts multiple gymnastics disciplines. Athletes can dedicate themselves fully to training under one roof. No one tells you to “leave the hall” or “roll up the carpets.”
We are sincerely grateful to the leadership of the Gymnastics Federation of the Kyrgyz Republic and, of course, to the Azerbaijan Gymnastics Federation for making our presence here possible. Thank you for the warm welcome.
