The Press Service of AGF presents an interview with the coach of the Portuguese Rhythmic Gymnastics Team - Darina Vasileva.

You are welcome to Azerbaijan. How many gymnasts are take part in the training camp at Milli Gimnastika Arenası (National Gymnastics Arena)?

Three gymnasts are taking part in the training. One of them is a pre-junior and two others are seniors.

- In which competitions your gymnasts participating in the training camp have already achieved success?

Two of our young gymnasts, taking part in training camp, have already started to try their strength at senior competitions. One of them became the Champion of Portugal for three years in a row. She has achieved successful results in a number of international competitions. The last of these was "Marbella Grand Prix". At this competition, our gymnast reached the final and came close to 24th place at the European Championships. Our other gymnast also has good achievements. She is the Champion of Portugal and Bronze medalist of the “Marbella Grand Prix” competition. She also won three Bronze and Gold medals at several international competitions in Baku.

- Which training exercises do you prefer in the process of preparation?

The new competition season has already started. For us, the period of preparation before the competition is very important. I express my gratitude to the leadership of AGF and member of the Executive Committee of the Federation Mariana Vasileva for the conditions created for us to prepare for the new season. We are currently working on a new program. In training, we are focused on improving the program and its exact execution.

- In which competitions will your team members participate in future?

We plan to participate in the first World Cup, which will be held in Sofia. Then we will take part in the World Cup in Baku, as well as in the European and World Championships.

- Is this your first visit to Baku?

No, this is my fourth visit.

- Have you been on a city tour?

On previous trips I have been on city tours. Your capital is very beautiful. I really like Azerbaijan. The people are very kind here. Staying here makes a good impression on us. Everything is fine, thank you very much.
