Vladimir Shulikin: “The application of the new Code of Points has had a positive impact on the performances of athletes”

The Head Coach of the Azerbaijani Trampoline Gymnastics National Team Vladimir Shulikin shared his impressions on the FIG Trampoline Gymnastics World Cup held in Baku on February 12-13 with the Press Service of Azerbaijan Gymnastics Federation (AGF):
“The first task for us was to reach the final. Having passed this stage, we focused on winning a medal. This World Cup was some kind of test of the new Code of Points. I would like to say that the application of these rules had a positive impact on the performance of athletes. The new rules require to monitor thoroughly the performances of our competitors. Based on our rivals’ score, we decide whether our athlete will perform a harder or easier combination. In general, the competition was fair. Seljan has recently moved from juniors to seniors age groups. Therefore, she needs to work hard on herself. There are a number of World Cups, the European Championships in Italy in June and the World Championships in Bulgaria in November in our competition calendar ahead. From next year, athletes will start to gain qualification points for participation in the Olympic Games Paris-2024. We will also do our best to qualify for Paris-2024”.
