Participants of the “Challenge” gather Baku residents together in the cool summer evening

The 1st Baku Gym for All International Challenge, dedicated to the 100th Anniversary of the national leader of the Azerbaijani people Heydar Aliyev, has started today in our capital.
446 participants within 46 teams tried to find a way to the hearts of the capital’s residents with interesting & colorful performances at the Challenge.
This time, Lithuanian “Little Autumn” & Georgian “Dio Dance” Teams joined the Azerbaijani gymnasts.
This Gymnastics discipline, which can be practiced by anyone regardless of age and physical ability, cannot fail to impress those who watch it. A marching in, performances of the teams, workshops, entertainment taking place within the framework of the event fascinate the residents and guests of our city, give people a pleasant atmosphere and a real festive mood.
Spectators first witnessed a marching in of the participants, which started from the “Deniz Mall” shopping center to the area behind the Azerbaijan State Puppet Theater named after Abdulla Shaig.
There was followed the Opening Ceremony of the 1st Baku Gym for All International Challenge.
There was demonstrated a video dedicated to the memory of the national leader Heydar Aliyev at the event. Then President of the European Gymnastics Technical Committee in Gymnastics for All - Hlif Thorgeirsdottir and Head Coach of Azerbaijan in Gymnastics for All & a member of the European Gymnastics Technical Committee in Gymnastics for All - Ruslan Eyvazov made a speech at the festival.
Following the Azerbaijani National Anthem, the “Challenge” participants began their performances. A large crowd of spectators watched the programs of teams with great interest on the square where the festival was held.
Along with the capital, athletes from 20 regions of our country also tested their strength at this Challenge.
All participants were awarded at the end of the event. A team of Nakhchivan Olympic Stadium was awarded in the nomination of the “Best Costume”, while the “Best Choreography” nomination was presented to a capital’s team named “Moonlight”.
Within the framework of the event, the special guest of the Gala-show to be held tomorrow will be winner of the “Eurovision” song contest - Eldar Gasimov. He will add a special color to the event with his performance. Also, 21 Teams distinguished themselves at the Challenge, which will present their programs at the Gala.
