“GOLD”, “SILVER” AND “BRONZE” FROM THE TOURNAMENTS IN KAZAKHSTAN, POLAND AND RUSSIA

An Azerbaijani gymnast Aliya Garayeva has become a winner of the international tournament held in Kazakhstan, for the prizes of a famous sportswoman in recent times, her namesake Aliya Yusupova.

According to the press service of Azerbaijan Gymnastics Federation, Garayeva had taken over the leadership after the first exercise with a hoop, and, after the second composition with a ball and the third one with clubs, there was no doubt in her victory over the floor’s hostess Marina Petrakova who became the 2nd.

And another Azerbaijani gymnast Anna Gurbanova, as well as a Russian Yana Lukonina, who received equal points, mounted the third level of the podium. If our sportswomen won gold and bronze medals at the competitions in Central Asia, other Azerbaijani gymnasts contented themselves with silver ones in the very center of Europe – at the “Baltic Cup” international tournament in Poland.

A senior group team consisting of Jeyla Guliyeva, Anastasiya Prasolova, Ayelita Khalafova, Sabina Abbasova, Stefani Trayanova and Yevgeniya Zhidkova won the 2nd place in an exercise with 3 ribbons and 2 hoops yielding the palm to the collective from Israel.

One more silver medal was won by a 12-year-old Laman Hajizada performing at the event among juniors. A Russian gymnast was announced the winner of the tournament. As to other participants, reaching all the finals, Zeynab Javadli became the 6th in the all-around among 22 competitors. She showed the best result in an exercise with a ball having taken the 5th place. Performing in the tournament of juniors born in 1998, Gulsum Shafizada took the 8th place.

Our too young gymnasts returned with medals from the competitions in Zvenigorod situated near Moscow as well. Thus, Lala Kramarenko (born in 2004) and group team of “Spartak” Sports Society consisting of Leyli Ibrahimova, Darya Sorokina, Balakhanim Ahmadova, Laman Hajiyeva and Nurana Mansurova (born in 2001-2002) were honored with the second place. Besides, a 10-year-old Leyli Ibrahimova also became a bronze medalist in the individual all-around.
