The "Ocaq Sport" Club, a large and friendly gymnastics family, celebrated its 10th anniversary with an amazing gymnastics show.
On December 9, the spectacular gala show titled “Flames of the Hearth,” held at the National Gymnastics Arena, provided unforgettable moments for those who attended.
The name of the show was not chosen by chance. Since its establishment in 2013, the "Ocaq Sport" Club has trained nearly a thousand athletes in 11 types of gymnastics (rhythmic gymnastics, men's artistic gymnastics, women's artistic gymnastics, trampoline and tumbling, acrobatic gymnastics, aerobic gymnastics, TeamGym, parkour, gymnastics for all, aerial gymnastics, and special olympic gymnastics). The main theme of the presented show was the unity of all club members and all types of gymnastics.
The enchanting gymnastics show, showcasing the individuality, uniqueness, and grace of each gymnastics discipline, brought joy to the audience. The club's mascot, "Oci," entertained the show participants, creating smiles and pleasant emotions.
Later, a video highlighting the 10 years of activities, successes, and achievements of the "Ocaq Sport" Club was presented. The video depicted the club's athletes proudly waving the Azerbaijani flag at local competitions and prestigious tournaments held in various countries around the world, their involvement in national teams, and the activities of the club's branches in different regions (Nakhchivan, Qakh, Shamakhi, Zaqatala, Agdash, and Sumgayit).
The show continued with exemplary performances. Mehriban Taghiyeva, a bronze and gold medalist at the Special Olympics World Summer Games held in Berlin (rhythmic gymnastics), and Special Olympian Farid Ociyev showcased their routines.
The show featured not only young gymnasts from the "Ocaq Sport" Club but also club alumni who are medalists at world and European championships and participants in the Olympic Games, as well as athletes who have qualified for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.
During the gala night, a special number titled “Dance of the Flames” was presented. This dance demonstrated the individual characteristics, strength, and beauty of various gymnastics disciplines. At the end, the unity of the “flames” symbolized the "Ocaq" family, reflecting unity, friendship, and solidarity.
Young gymnasts in the audience warmly supported their teammates. The small spectators, taking their first steps in sports, also imagined themselves as participants in such an event one day.
At the end of the show, a brief performance by Vafa Bəkərova, an artistic gymnast and finalist at the Beijing Olympics, who is currently the chairperson of the club's board, was showcased in a group routine.
The organizers expressed deep gratitude to the choreographers, especially chief choreographer Kamil Quliyeva, coaches, staff, and the Azerbaijan Gymnastics Federation, for their efforts in bringing the gala show to life.
At the end of the show, balloons released from the sky created a festive atmosphere for the gymnasts ahead of the New Year, and they left the National Gymnastics Arena in high spirits.
Dear gymnastics enthusiasts, another miraculous festive atmosphere will be experienced at the National Gymnastics Arena on December 27. You are invited to watch the entertaining New Year show titled “Adventures of Toys” at the National Gymnastics Arena.
