15 December 2024
The first day of the "Winter Fairy Tale" international tournament, which started on December 14, concluded with excitement. On the first day of the tournament, young gymnasts born between 2009 and 2018 delivered stunning performances, bringing together their talent and the enchanting atmosphere of winter.
The delicate elements of gymnastics and the fairytale-like routines of the gymnasts combined with the magic of winter, providing the audience with unforgettable moments. Gymnasts from foreign gymnastics federations, clubs, and local gymnastics societies showcased their skills in the arena, captivating everyone present.
Throughout the day, gymnasts demonstrated their technical skills, artistry, and determination in individual and group performances. Movements performed with ribbons, hoops, balls, and clubs added both color and memorable moments to the tournament. The audience watched each performance with great enthusiasm, cheering for the gymnasts. The palpable sense of competition and excitement made the event even more engaging.
One of the most memorable moments of the tournament was the announcement of the retirement of our national team’s pride in rhythmic gymnastics, Zohra Agamirzian, the first Azerbaijani two-time Olympic participant, winner of the Islamic Solidarity Games, medalist of the Summer Universiade, European Championship medalist, and finalist at the World Championship. Representatives of the Azerbaijan Gymnastics Federation invited Zohra to the stage, presenting her with a certificate and gifts for her contributions to Azerbaijani gymnastics. Zohra then performed her final and magnificent routine on the stage of the National Gymnastics Arena, where she took her first steps as a gymnast.
We express our gratitude to Zohra Agamirzian for all her contributions to gymnastics and wish her success in her future endeavors.
Thus, the eagerly awaited first day of the "Winter Fairy Tale" international tournament concluded with great enthusiasm.
