On December 10, the Rector’s Cup artistic gymnastics competition was held in the auxiliary hall of the National Gymnastics Arena, jointly organized by the Azerbaijan Gymnastics Federation and the Azerbaijan Sports Academy.

The competition brought together first-year undergraduate students of the Academy, who competed as part of 16 teams. In both individual and team events, representatives of the teams “Tartar,” “Agdara,” “Barda,” “Gubadli,” “Shusha,” “Khojaly,” “Khojavend,” “Kalbajar,” “Khankendi,” “Fuzuli,” “Hadrut,” “Horadiz,” “Jabrayil,” “Lachin,” “Gabala,” and “Sheki” competed in the execution of floor exercises, Rings, and Horizontal bar routines.

In the team competition, “Khojaly” claimed 1st place, “Shusha” finished 2nd, and “Tartar” secured 3rd place.

It should be noted that a number of projects aimed at the development of gymnastics have been successfully implemented to date within the framework of cooperation between Azerbaijan Gymnastics Federation and the Azerbaijan Sports Academy.

The main objective of the Rector’s Cup competition is to enhance the experience of students from various faculties of the Academy and to strengthen their level of preparation through gymnastics, which forms the foundation of all sports disciplines.
