The FIG Acrobatic Gymnastics World Cup, AGF Trophy competition, held in Baku from June 13 to 15, has come to a close.
The three-day event featured 63 top acrobats from 7 countries, who impressed the audience with their harmonious and thrilling performances. The intense battle among the best proved to be successful and memorable for the Azerbaijani athletes as well. Our gymnasts brought home 2 gold and 2 silver medals in the combined routines. The women’s group, consisting of Anahita Bashiri, Zahra Rashidova, and Nazrin Zeyniyeva, claimed gold with a score of 28.240. The men’s pair, Murad Rafiyev and Daniel Abbasov, secured another gold with 28.350 points. The men’s group, made up of Seymour Jafarov, Riad Safarov, Abdulla Al-Mashaykhi, and Rasul Seyidli, won silver with a score of 28.440, while the mixed pair Milana Aliyeva and Sabir Agayev earned silver with 27.720 points. At the conclusion of the World Cup, the winners were determined by an international panel of judges and awarded medals and gifts. Additionally, the AGF Trophy was presented to the Ukrainian mixed pair, Ivan Labunets and Yevfrosyniia Kryvytska, for achieving the highest execution score in the qualification round. Throughout the competition, our mascots Jilli and Tilli entertained the audience with fun contests and boosted the gymnasts’ morale before their performances.
Thus, another international competition held in our country has been successfully completed.
