On March 13, the theoretical and practical training sections of the first-level coaching courses in artistic gymnastics began at the National Gymnastics Arena. The courses, designed for coaches working with gymnasts aged 5 to 7, involve 72 coaches representing 22 sports clubs and organizations operating in the country.
The theoretical part of the courses covers topics such as methods of sports selection, general physical preparation, apparatus technique, jumps, injuries in artistic gymnastics, play exercises, turns, choreography, and the formation of a coach's personality, among others. Lectures will be held for participants on these topics. The courses will continue until March 18, and at the end, participants will take both theoretical and practical exams. Prior to this, the course participants completed the online portion of the courses through the Azerbaijan Gymnastics Federation's (AGF) educational website.
For information, the AGF educational website was launched last year following the decision of the Federation's Executive Committee on September 9, 2020, in accordance with the Rules for the Professional Training of Coaches of the "Azerbaijan Gymnastics Federation" Public Union, as approved.
Through this website, coaches can register online for coaching courses in various gymnastics disciplines (artistic gymnastics, men's and women's artistic gymnastics, trampoline gymnastics, tumbling, acrobatics, and aerobics), familiarize themselves with the training materials, and later take exams.
The training courses are divided into five levels (the first two levels are introductory, and the next three levels are the main courses).
