Final review of the 2nd Baku International Challenge in Gymnastics for All

"Gymnastics for All" is truly an example of the unifying power of sports. This discipline not only brings together different generations but also connects various cultures and nations. The 2nd International "Challenge" in Gymnastics for All, held in Baku, was yet another clear testament to this idea. Organized by the Azerbaijan Gymnastics Federation, the event took place on June 1-2 at the Seaside Boulevard.
The "Challenge" featured nearly 800 participants and 60 teams from three foreign countries and 23 cities and regions of Azerbaijan. Alongside Azerbaijani athletes, teams from Georgia, Mongolia, and Sierra Leone also showcased their performances. Over two days, masterclasses in zumba, hip-hop, Azerbaijani national dances, and acrobatic gymnastics were held in various locations.
The event was unforgettable not only for the participants but also for the spectators. During a survey, the majority of the audience shared their positive impressions, with many expressing their interest in enrolling their children in gymnastics clubs.
The program's opening ceremony was marked by a colorful parade. Teams marched from the Baku Sports Palace, accompanied by an orchestra, toward the main stage located behind the Azerbaijan State Puppet Theatre. The performances by different groups, set to a variety of melodies, became a highlight of the program. Azerbaijan was represented not only by teams from the capital but also by participants from various regions of the country. The vibrant performances of young and older generations filled the atmosphere with positive energy.
At the opening ceremony, Odette Essombe Engoulou, Vice President of the Cameroon National Olympic and Sports Committee and a member of the African Badminton Confederation Council, welcomed all participants and wished them success. She emphasized that the International "Challenge" in Gymnastics for All is first and foremost a symbol of friendship and solidarity. Meanwhile, Azerbaijan's Deputy Minister of Youth and Sports, Mariana Vasileva, officially opened the festival, highlighting that the Gymnastics for All discipline is now developing in 28 regions of Azerbaijan. She also congratulated young athletes on June 1 – International Children's Day, noting that the event took place in a festive atmosphere.
The festival also attracted attention with a prize-winning quiz. However, the highlight of the first day was, undoubtedly, the colorful awards ceremony, where no participant was left without a medal. On the second day, the gala show featured performances by the gold medalists, the "Dance Ability" team, and the winners of two photography contests – "Most Creative Photo" and "Best Dynamic Photo". Additionally, special trophies were awarded to participants who distinguished themselves in various categories.
All these efforts serve to promote mass participation in sports and encourage a healthy lifestyle.
