On December 19, the "Rector's Cup" in artistic gymnastics was held at the auxiliary hall of the National Gymnastics Arena, organized jointly by the Azerbaijan Gymnastics Federation and the Azerbaijan Sports Academy.

In the competition, students in their first year of bachelor's studies from the academy tested their skills as part of 12 teams. Representatives from the "Tartar," "Aghdere," "Zangilan," "Qubadli," "Aghdam," "Shusha," "Khojaly," "Kelbecer," "Khankendi," "Fuzuli," "Jebrayil" and "Lachin" teams competed in Floor exercises, Rings and Parallel Bars.

In the team competition, "Aghdere" secured first place, "Khojaly" came in second and "Khankendi" finished third. In the group performances, "Jebrayil" took first, "Khojaly" was second and "Tartar" placed third. In the individual All-around competition, Ali Safarov from the "Aghdam" team won the Gold Medal, Ali Rzayev from the "Kelbecer" team took Silver and Tamerlan Mehdizade from the "Lachin" team winned the Bronze Medal.

It is worth noting that several successful projects have been organized between the Azerbaijan Gymnastics Federation and the Azerbaijan Sports Academy to promote the development of gymnastics.

The aim of holding the "Rector's Cup" competition is to enhance the experience of students from various faculties of the academy through gymnastics, which serves as the foundation for all sports disciplines and to strengthen training methods. We hope that mutual cooperation and experience exchange will significantly contribute to the training of professional coach-teachers in this field in the future.
