Gymnastics section launched at “Umid Yeri” children's shelter

The Azerbaijan Gymnastics Federation (AGF), which regularly organizes meetings between gymnasts and the young residents of the “Umid Yeri” Children’s Shelter located in the Bina settlement of Baku’s Khazar district, has once again brought joy to the children.

On August 3, under the initiative of the Ministry of Youth and Sports of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the AGF officially opened a gymnastics section at the shelter.

It should be noted that the selection of children for the section was carried out by coaches based on the children's physical abilities and interest in the sport. The training sessions are conducted by an experienced coach from the AGF. Held twice a week, the sessions are attended by nearly 20 residents of the shelter aged between 6 and 17.

Chairperson of the “Umid Yeri” Children’s Shelter, Nigar Mansimli, emphasized that the launch of the gymnastics section brought immense joy to the children and played a significant role in their physical development:

“The ‘Umid Yeri’ shelter not only provides care for children deprived of parental protection but also strives to ensure a successful future for them. The opening of a gymnastics section here not only contributes to the children’s physical development but also helps organize their free time productively and creates an opportunity to discover their talents in sports. Our children show great interest and enthusiasm for the training sessions. They eagerly await the arrival of their coach and continue to work on themselves even after practice. I hope that within this project, the children involved in the training will raise Azerbaijan’s flag high on international stages in the future. I express my deep gratitude to the Ministry of Youth and Sports and the Gymnastics Federation for this initiative and its implementation.”
