2 GOLD, 4 SILVER AND 9 BRONZE MEDALS FROM EILAT

An Azerbaijani junior gymnast Laman Hajizada continues her successful performances in international tournaments summing up the year which is soon over.
This time, a pearl of the Red sea’s coast, the popular Israeli resort – Eilat city has become the place of medal’s winning. 
A 12-year-old Baku gymnast won all the 5 medals as she also did a week ago in Bulgaria. After the exercise with a ribbon, determination of the first place holder presented no difficulty for the judges who unconditionally and deservedly gave it to Hajizada. With other apparatus (a hoop, a ball, clubs) and the all-around, Laman tried on 4 silver medals. 
One more gold medal of Eilat sparkled around Zuleykha Ismayilova’s neck (born in 2000). Making her debut on the international floor, she also won the final with a ribbon and mounted the third level of the podium three times – with a ball, a hoop and individual all-around.
Moreover, 4 “bronzes” were won by Gulsum Shafizada. She performed with a ball, clubs, a ribbon and in the all-around in the age group of gymnasts born in 1998.
Finally, 2 more third places were taken by Mansura Bagiyeva (a ball) and Yekaterina Prokopenko (a ribbon) who performed within the group of gymnasts born in 1997.
According to Mariana Vasileva, the head coach of the Azerbaijani national team, “our junior gymnasts are gaining experience and improving their performances with every tournament”. “Of course, we have to work a lot but I am glad that we have a promising generation growing,” the Bulgarian specialist stated.
As to the national team’s leader, Aliya Garayeva including other distinguished gymnasts of the planet was invited to the Gala-show in Bilbao. She demonstrated her best performances with clubs and a ribbon and also her Gala performance towards the end of the show in the Basque country.
This week-end, Garayeva will take part in the third round of the Italian Serie A1 Championship to be held in Biella on November 19 and junior gymnasts will perform at the 18th Azerbaijan and Baku Championship (November 18-19, Shaghan Olympic Sports Complex).
