An Azerbaijani gymnast Laman Hajizada has become an all-around winner of the international tournament held this week-end in Bulgaria.
According to the press service of Azerbaijan Gymnastics Federation, a 12-year-old gymnast was acknowledged the best in all kinds of the program including the all-around. Another Azerbaijani sportswoman Mansura Bagiyeva, also performing there, won 5 silver medals in the category of gymnasts born in 1997.
The country’s other junior gymnasts - 13-year-olds Gulsum Shafizada and Nilufar Niftaliyeva -were also marked with glassy results in the tournaments in Belgium and Latvia. Thus, Gulsum won the gold medal in the final with a ribbon, became the silver medalist with a hoop and a ball, and took the third place in the all-around at the end of the competitions in the Benelux country. As to Nilufar Niftaliyeva, she won the final with clubs, became the second with a ball and the third one with a hoop at the event in the Baltic.
Competing in the age group consisting of gymnasts born in 1996 and older, Lala Yusifova won the second place in the composition with a ball, and Yekaterina Prokopenko (1997) – took the third place after the demonstration of final combinations with a ball and a hoop.
The national team’s leader Aliya Garayeva, participated in the second round of the Italian Serie A Championship where her team “Ritmica Piemonte” took the sixth place. She received 27,5 points for her performance with a hoop showing the first result within the team and the third one among all the gymnasts performing with this apparatus.
At the end of the current week, our gymnasts will take part in the tournaments in Israel and Spain.
