The World Cup series in rhythmic gymnastics has come to the end in Italian Pesaro city where 2 Azerbaijani gymnasts participated in. According to the press service of the country’s gymnastics Federation, four separate finals took place on the competitions’ last day.
An Azerbaijani representative Aliya Garayeva competed in three of them. Aliya gave her best results in exercises with a rope (27.25 points) and a hoop (27.675) having taken the 6th places. Garayeva received 25.075 points for her performance with a ribbon and became the 8th among the finalists.
Aliya Garayeva took the 7th place in the all-around. As to the country’s second gymnast, Samira Mustafayeva’s final position in the qualification is the 31st place among 79 competitors. And a Russian Evgeniya Kanayeva became the tournament’s all-around winner.
We would like to remind that Anna Gurbanova should have performed in Pesaro as well. But the day before the competitions’ start, she had sustained a slight injury and the coaches did not take the risk of entering her name into the list of competitors.
And, the dress rehearsal before the World Championships starting in Moscow in 3 weeks, will take place in Holon city, Israel. Another Grand Prix series and Open International Tournament to be held there on September 3-5, where Garayeva, Gurbanova and Mustafayeva, as well as group team consisting of Jeyla Guliyeva, Ayelita Khalafova, Nigar Abdusalimova, Anastasiya Prasolova, Stefani Trayanova and Yevgeniya Jidkova will take part in.
