Baku will host the Aerobic Gymnastics World Championships in 2020. The decision was made at the regular meeting of the FIG Executive Committee (EC) held in St. Petersburg. Farid Gayibov - the member of this authority and the President of the European Union of Gymnastics, also participated at the meeting of the FIG EC.

It should be mentioned that the Championships which will play a great role in popularization of this gymnastics discipline in our country, will be held on May 14-16 in 2020. Prior to this Championships, the World Age Group events will take place in our capital on May 8-10.

Over the past years, Azerbaijan hosting large-scale competitions in gymnastics disciplines, have successfully organized several World Cups and European Championships. It is pleasant fact that such a significant event in Aerobic Gymnastics which is comparatively new discipline in Azerbaijan, has been entrusted to Azerbaijan Gymnastics Federation.

It should be noted that in the calendar of our Federation for 2019 saturated with international events, there is also Rhythmic Gymnastics World Championships to be held at Milli Gimnastika Arenasi (National Gymnastics Arena) on September 16-22. Another World Championships in Baku will be in Trampoline Gymnastics on November 11-14, 2021.
