On October 13-16, coaching courses (Rhythmic Gymnastics, Gymnastics for All) & judging (Rhythmic Gymnastics) in Special Olympics were held by Azerbaijan Gymnastics Federation (AGF) at “Milli Gimnastika Arenasi” (National Gymnastics Arena) with an organization of the Azerbaijan State Academy of Physical Education and Sport.
9 coaches participated in the courses led by the Greek expert in Special Olympics - Sofia Bura.
The purpose of organization of the courses including the theoretical & practical exercises, was to increase the knowledge and skills in Special Olympic Movement and to train qualified specialists in this field.
“The purpose of holding these courses is to educate national specialists in Special Olympics on International level as well as to master the peculiarities in this field”, - the Greek expert said. She emphasized that Rhythmic Gymnastics is sufficiently developed in Azerbaijan. But Gymnastics for All is also under the development. Sofiya Bura also mentioned that there are high-level conditions at “Milli Gimnastika Arenasi” for holding the courses. At the end of the courses, specialists were awarded with a participation diploma.
