As previously reported, today the National Gymnastics Arena once again opened its doors to rhythmic gymnasts. The “AGF Trophy” international tournament, featuring 119 gymnasts from 14 countries, is underway, with Azerbaijan represented by a total of 38 athletes.

This year’s first international rhythmic gymnastics competition in our country is even more exciting, as both junior and senior gymnasts are participating.

On the first day of the tournament, during the qualification rounds, both junior and senior individual gymnasts performed routines with the hoop and ball.
In the group routines, juniors competed with 5 ropes, while the seniors performed with 5 hoops.

The colorful and artistic performances of the gymnasts, presented with enthusiastic applause from the audience, drew great interest and appreciation.

In the junior individual all-around qualifications, Nuray Ahmadzada (27.800 points) advanced to the hoop final, while Shams Agahuseynova (28.550 points) and Sofiya Mammadova (26.900 points) qualified for the ball final.

In the senior individual qualifications, Zohra Aghamirova led the rankings in both hoop (34.450) and ball (33.550), qualifying for the finals in both apparatus. Another member of our team, Alina Gozelova, also advanced to the finals in hoop (30.300) and ball (31.700) routines.

The junior group team, composed of Govhar Ibrahimova, Sakinakhanim Ismayilzada, Medina Aslanova, Ilaha Bahadirova, Ayan Sadigova, and Zahra Jafarova, performed their 5 ropes routine and received a score of 27.750 from the judges, placing second in the qualifications.

In the senior group competition, our team—Gullu Aghalarzada, Leman Alimuradova, Kamilla Aliyeva, Yelizaveta Luzan, and Darya Sorokina—performed their 5 hoops routine, earning 36.200 points from the judges.

Tomorrow, gymnasts in both age categories will continue their performances in the individual program with ribbon and clubs, and in the group program with juniors competing in 5 balls and seniors in 3 ribbons and 2 balls in the all-around event.

The tournament will conclude on April 16.
