Our acrobats become the winners of the World Cup Series

Members of our national acrobatic gymnastics team have achieved the highest results in the World Cup series. The Men’s Pair of Murad Rafiyev & Daniel Abbasov won medals of all three colors in the World Cup series and based on their overall performance, were awarded the World Cup trophy. They secured Silver, Gold and Bronze Medals at the World Cups held in Bulgaria, Portugal and Poland, respectively.

The Mixed Pair of Agasif Rahimov & Raziya Seyidli, who won the World Cup series title last year, successfully defended their title this year. After claiming first place for their performance in Burgas, Bulgaria, they secured a silver medal in Maia, Portugal, and outperformed all their rivals in Rzeszów, Poland, earning the top spot on the podium.

The International Gymnastics Federation (FIG) highlighted the achievements of our gymnasts on its official website, stating:
"With three months remaining until the Acrobatic Gymnastics World Championships, Azerbaijan stands at the pinnacle of the sport, as reflected in the World Cup rankings. For the first time, Azerbaijan leads the tournament standings at the end of the World Cup season with two teams at the top of the rankings."

Up next, our gymnasts will compete in the World Championships, scheduled to take place from September 12 to 15 in Guimarães, Portugal. We wish our acrobats the best of luck in this battle of the strongest!
