ALIYA GARAYEVA WINS “BRONZE” AT THE GRAND PRIX FINAL IN BERLIN
 

An Azerbaijani gymnast Aliya Garayeva has become a bronze medalist of the Grand Prix final series held in Berlin.

According to the press service of Azerbaijan Gymnastics Federation, the bronze medalist of the World Championships-2010 won the 3rd place in an exercise with a ball. She received 27.9 points and lost only to two Russian gymnasts Yevgeniya Kanayeva and Darya Dmitriyeva.

Garayeva also became the 4th with a rope (27.5), a ribbon (27.4) and a hoop (27.5). In the all-around, Aliya took the 5th place with a total 110.066 points.

Her team-mate Anna Gurbanova participated in two finals. She took the 6th places both with a ribbon and a hoop having received 26.25 and 26.275 points accordingly. Having received 106.458 points, Gurbanova became the 9th in an individual all-around.

In all the kinds of the program, the victory was celebrated by the All-around World Champion, Yevgeniya Kanayeva.

From Germany, our gymnasts will set out for Italian Arezzo city, where the 2nd round of the Italian Serie A Championship will take place on November 6. Gurbanova will perform for the “Commense” club in the Serie A1, and Garayeva will defend the colors of the “Ritmica Piemonte” team from the Serie A2.
