The Azerbaijani Anthem played twice in honor of our gymnasts in Europe

From April 3 to 7, the European Championships in trampoline gymnastics, double-mini trampoline, and tumbling took place in Guimarães, Portugal.

During the competition, our national team members Mixail Malkin, Tofiq Əliyev, Adil Hacızadə, and Bilal Qurbanov won the gold medal in the team event. This gold medal is historic, marking the first time our gymnasts have achieved this honor in the tumbling team event at the European Championships.

It is worth noting that our gymnasts also secured a gold medal in the team event at last year's World Championships.

Other members of our team, Ayan Şabanova and Samirə Hüseynova, competed in the synchronized program in trampoline gymnastics for the juniors and won a silver medal. This medal represents the first medal in the synchronized program for women in the junior category at the European Championships.

In the synchronized program for juniors, Əli Niftəliyev and Ammar Baxşaliyev also ascended to the top of the podium, claiming the gold medal in trampoline gymnastics.

Additionally, our gymnast Tofiq Əliyev participated in the individual events, showcasing a strong performance and winning a silver medal.

Mixail Malkin and his coach Adil Hüseyin-zadə were awarded titles for Best Gymnast and Best Coach of 2023, respectively.

For your information, Selcan Mahsudova and Mixail Malkin competed in the individual events for adults, while Aleksey Karataşov participated in the finals of the individual events for juniors.

It's noteworthy that Mixail Malkin was the European Champion in 2018 and the World Champion in 2023. Selcan Mahsudova recently earned a license to compete in the Paris 2024 Summer Olympics based on the points she accumulated in the World Cup stages.
