Women’s pair of Azerbaijani acrobats – Afag Maharramli and Parizad Guliyeva – won the 4th place at the World Cup series held in Germany.

According to the press service of Azerbaijan Gymnastics Federation, our duet had been taking the place closest to the podium after the execution of exercises in the qualification. Slight mistakes in tricks, and, as a result being off the beat with the music in demonstration balance and tempo combinations, did not prevent the acrobats of Baku Gymnastics School from reaching the World Cup’s final.

But in the decisive combined exercise, the girls could not avoid falls and remained beyond the boundary line of the prize-winners after two Russian and one Belarusian pairs.

According to a coach Irada Gurbanova, the girls still have an opportunity to prove themselves this summer. Their participation in the international tournament in Kazakhstan is expected in the middle of June. And, in August, they will perform at the World Cup series in Veliky Novgorod.
