AZERBAIJANI GYMNASTS WON 9 MEDALS AT THE INTERNATIONAL COMPETITIONS IN BULGARIA

Azerbaijani gymnasts gathered a bumper crop of medals from the “Danube Pearl” international tournament held in Bulgaria.

According to the press service of Azerbaijan Gymnastics Federation, our team won nine medals. 5 of them were won by 14-year-old Elvin Aghadadayev (“gold” on the pommel horse and rings, “silver” in the all-around and “bronze” on parallel and horizontal bars). Other medals belong to a rhythmic gymnast Lala Yusifova who performed in the competition of gymnasts born in 1996. She won 4 medals – gold one for her performance with a hoop, silver one for her performance with a ball and two bronze medals for her performances with a rope and in the all-around.

Another gymnast Jala Garatova (1995) took the 4th place in the final exercise with clubs. The international tournament in rhythmic gymnastics was concurrently being held in Turkish Izmir, where two young Azerbaijani gymnasts took part in. In the competitions of gymnasts born in 1996, Aysha Mustafayeva took the 5 places five times – in all four finals and in the all-around. Mansura Baghiyeva (1997) became the 8th with a rope and 11th in the all-around.
