Interesting national event in Gymnastics comes to an end

That was a good opportunity to prove themselves at the National arena. On May 9 & 10, there was held the 29th Open Baku Championships & Age Categories competitions in Men’s Artistic Gymnastics, the 8th Open Baku Championships & Age Categories competitions in Women’s Artistic Gymnastics. The tournament took place at “Milli Gimnastika Arenasi” (National Gymnastics Arena). A total of 53 gymnasts (29 male & 24 female) participated in the events. Balakan Olympic Sports Complex, Zira Cultural Center, Ojaq Sport Club (Baku & Sumgait sections), Specialized Children-Youth Gymnastics School of Olympic Reserves and Specialized Children-Youth Sports Chess School No.1 of Olympic Reserves of Sumgait City Branch of “Tahsil” Republican Sports Center were represented at the competition.
At the Baku Championships, Women’s Artistic gymnasts tested their strength in the age categories of Seniors (born in 2008 and older), Juniors (2009-2011), Pre-juniors (2012-2013), while Men’s Artistic gymnast competed in the age categories of Seniors (born in 2006 and older), Juniors / A (2007-2008), Juniors / B (2009-2010), Pre-juniors (2011-2012).
At the Baku Championship among Age Categories in Men’s Artistic Gymnastics, Pre-juniors (2011-2012), Children (2013-2014), Youngsters (2015-2016) and Juniors (2017) competed for medals. Representatives in Women’s Artistic Gymnastics showed their routines in the age categories of Juniors (2009-2011) and Pre-juniors (2012-2013). The best gymnasts among female representatives were determined based on the results on Vault, Uneven Bars, Balance Beam & Floor Exercises. Gymnasts in Men’s Artistic Gymnastics tested their strength in Floor Exercises, Pommel Horse, Rings, Vault, Parallel Bars & Horizontal Bar. At the All-Around competitions among Men, Youngsters, Children, Pre-juniors & Seniors (born in 2006 and older) competed in the Individual program. For each participant, this tournament was considered as a springboard for future victories. The athletes gained experience regardless of the final results. Now they can analyze their performances and improve their skills to participate in the future events.
