Dmitri Filonov, the head coach of Azerbaijani men’s artistic gymnastics national team, has passed away at the age of 82 today.

In spite of the fact that he was seriously ill, Dmitri Semenovich, courageously resisted the disease trying not to show and tell the people surrounding him about his health problems.

As usual, he had been continuing to prepare his gymnasts for the forthcoming tournaments displaying his love for his job and gymnasts.

But his disease turned out to be more severe and the heart of the kind, friendly person, who had become sentimental during his gymnasts’ successful performances, stopped.

Azerbaijan Gymnastics Federation, as well as the whole gymnastics community, presents its sincere condolences to the family and friends of Dmitri Filonov.
