The FIG Artistic Gymnastics Apparatus World Cup, started in our capital city, is going on.
On the second day of the competition, male gymnasts tested their strength on Vault, Pommel Horse, Horizontal Bar, while female gymnasts performed on Balance Beam and demonstrated Floor Exercises accordingly.
At today’s events, representatives of Azerbaijan - Samira Gahramanova and Milana Minakovskaya demonstrated their programs on Floor Exercises & Balance Beam. Ivan Tikhonov performed on Vault, Pommel Horse & Horizontal Bar.
Tomorrow our representatives Ivan Tikhonov will compete on Parallel Bars, while Nikita Simonov will take part in the Finals on Rings.
It should be mentioned that, yesterday Ivan Tikhonov took the 8th place with 13.933 points and qualified for the Finals. Nikita Simonov ranked 6th with 14.266 points on Rings.
This October, Azerbaijan Gymnastics Federation celebrates 20 years of its reestablishment.
During the competitions, AGF presented Anniversary icon and video to participants and spectators depicting the achievements of federation within 20 years.
Rhythmic Gymnastics “Ribbon” is used to shape “20” on the Anniversary icon, based on the corporate design of Azerbaijan Gymnastics Federation. The term “20 Years of Progress” symbolizes success achieved by AGF within 20 years.
The video depicts the successful development and high results achieved by AGF, led by country’s First-Vice President, President of Azerbaijan Gymnastics Federation - Mrs. Mehriban Aliyeva within the 20 years.
We would like to emphasize that as a result of successful and effective activity led by Mrs. Mehriban Aliyeva, the development of this sport has begun in Azerbaijan, international relations have been established, high results have been achieved and the federation has turned into one of the most active organization in the world.
